T-5 an otherwise healthy tigress died on February 9, 2011, leaving behind two orphaned cubs who were barely 3 or 4 months old.

In any forest, a motherless tiger cub is the most vulnerable animal you can think of. Its life hangs by a thread…with no means of support, as it still doesn’t know how to hunt for food and can starve to death. But this situation rarely arise - even before it dies due to starvation, a cub is likely to fall prey to a host of other dangers such as leopards, bears and hyenas around it. And Ranthambore is full of such dangers!

But suddenly, a miracle happened…To everybody’s amazement, the cubs found a savior…It was as if mother nature decided to intervene directly on behalf of the orphaned tiger cubs…

It used to be the hunting reserve of the forefathers of the legendary beauty – the Princess of Cooch Behar – who subsequently became Maharani Gayatri Devi and Rajmata of Jaipur.

Manas National Park in Assam is one of the few natural reserves in the country which can be called truly perfect – a priceless jewel in North-East India. Manas has been accorded the prestigious status of UNESCO world heritage site. It is also a Project tiger reserve, an elephant reserve and a biosphere reserve!

After Kaziranga, Manas is the second stronghold of the great one-horned rhino. It also has a number of rare and endangered species not found anywhere else - such as pygmy hog….golden langur…and roofed turtle.

Manas Manas is also the birthplace of a unique and path-breaking wildlife project.

Once upon a time, Manas had lost all its rhinos. Then, rhinos from the rescue centre were released here. This re-introduction is one of the biggest success stories of conservation in India.
